Jimmie Jr. Gray, 80, of Indianapolis passed away on March 26, 2015. Jimmie was born on March 22, 1935 in Manchester, Kentucky, to Bob and Molly (Woods) Gray.
Jimmie Jr. Gray was a man dedicated to his family. They were the most important part of his life. Jimmie was a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a dedicated husband for over 59 years, to his wife Geraldine. Jimmie was one of eleven siblings; he is preceded in death by Ernest, Cecil, Dennis, Pauline, and Clyde; and is survived by: Bob, Oscar, Cathleen, Lois, and Laurene. He was a loving father to four children: Jessie, Jerry, Gary, and Fred. He also leaves behind two daughter-in-laws: Lola and Danette and a son-in-law David. He left his legacy with his cherished grandchildren: David, Joe, Justin, Tammy, Stacy, Sara, Fred Jr., and Zachariah. Later in life came his great-grandchildren, his most precious gifts: Jaylun, Jasmine, Jocelyn, Taryn, Natalee, Jeff Jr., Jenna, and Korben.
He was a simple man with simple ways, and that is the way he liked it. He did not worry over the daily tribulations in life, he welcomed each day with a smile from his front porch swing. His family will carry him in their hearts, always knowing he is never more than a heartbeat or memory away. We Love You Grandpa! <3
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 3, 2015 at Indiana Funeral Care and Crematory, Harry W. Moore Chapel 8151 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis 46250 with visitation from 9 am to 12 noon and a service at 12 noon. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
